Kaufland starts recall for gherkins: glass fragments found in Gürkchen
The Kaufland food retail chain is calling K-Classic Premium Cornichons back with fine spices. According to the company, it cannot be ruled out that there are fragments in individual glasses that could cause injuries when consumed.
Recall started for little pickles
The department store chain Kaufland announces on its website that "for reasons of preventive consumer protection" it is calling back K-Classic Premium Cornichons with fine spices. According to the recall, glasses with the filling quantity: 330 g, drained weight: 190 g, EAN 4335896156385 with the best before date and batches: December 31, 2020 L5 206 BG and December 31, 2020 L5 207 BG as well as the supplier number: LFN: 206468.
Shards in individual glasses possible
"It cannot be completely ruled out that there are pieces of broken glass in individual glasses of the product mentioned, which can lead to injuries when consumed," the company writes.
The best-before date is printed on the edge of the lid. The LFN number is on the label below the nutritional table (LFN 206468).
According to the information, Kaufland has already taken the affected product out of sale. Other best before dates, batches and LFN as well as other types of K-Classic gherkins are not affected.
The product can also be returned without presentation of the receipt against reimbursement of the purchase price.
Splinters of glass can cause serious injuries
