Health: Mix essential bath oil with milk
In winter, a bath with essential oils is best suited to find relaxation and recuperation against the persistent cold. However, if you ignore some tips, you could experience an unpleasant experience.
In naturopathy, essential oils are used to dissolve mucus in the upper airways and to relieve abdominal pain, cramps and flatulence. The oils play an important role in aromatherapy. Here the beneficial oils are used to treat sensory disorders, diseases caused by fragrances or to relieve stress symptoms.
Add milk or cream plus essential oil to the water
For a bath, it is advantageous to add an emulsifier to the essential oil before adding the bath oil to the bath water. 50 to 100 milliliters of cream, a tablespoon of whole milk or a tablespoon of honey are best suited for a full bath, as alternative practitioner Susanne Müller reports.
Since essential oils are not water-soluble, it floats on the surface of the water if no emulsifier has been added beforehand. What many people do wrong: Always let the bath water run completely into the bath before the natural bath additive is added! The bathing water temperature should not be less than 35 and not more than 38 degrees. Bathing should not take longer than 15 to 20 minutes. Anyone who experiences dizziness or circulatory problems beforehand is best to get out of the bath immediately. (sb)
