Bees

Bees are an amazing group of insects that are of enormous importance for pollination in the plant world. In addition to the honey bees, which are kept by beekeepers and used for honey production, numerous wild bee species are known, many of which do not live in bee states and do not produce honey. For some years there has been increasing discussion about a true bee death, which is attributed, for example, to the spread of the Varoa mite and pollution with environmental toxins. However, the number of bee colonies kept by beekeepers in Germany has not dropped dramatically in recent decades. The situation with wild bees is extremely critical. Many species have become extremely rare today and are now threatened with extinction. (fp)
